How do we start?
You can book online now and provide any specific requests. Some customers prefer to meet and discuss the details of their home. This allows us to put together a precise routine for your home that ensures that nothing is forgotten or cleaned in a way you don't want. To start, you can call, text, email, or click here to book a walkthrough.
Do you charge hourly rates?
No, unless it's a special circumstance. During our walkthrough, we will provide a bid for services. Our rates are based on each individual home and its needs; the rate will be the same each time we come. We're here to make your life a little easier. You don't want to keep track of hours, and you don't want someone spending all day in your home either!
When is my appointment?
During the walkthrough meeting, we’ll discuss which days of the week and times that work for your schedule. That will become your regular day and time. Our scheduling program will send you automatic reminders the afternoon before we come.
How many people will clean?
We generally clean in teams of 2. Larger homes may have 3 cleaners, and cleans under 3 hours may have a single cleaner. A Clean Slate strives to hire hard-working, responsible, and personable team members. It’s in everyone’s best interests to have the same cleaners in the same homes as much as possible.
Do I need to be home?
No, in fact most clients are not. One of the best parts of having a maid service is coming home to a fresh and clean house. Clients have: provided keys, garage codes, left the door unlocked or greeted us before running errands. Whatever you are comfortable with is just fine.
If I'm not home, will the cleaners know what I want cleaned?
Yes! On your first cleaning, one of the owners will be part of the team to train on the routine for your home. This routine is typed into our scheduling program so cleaners receive detailed work orders for every home they clean, every single time. The team is trained to follow these routines every time, so we stay consistent and nothing gets missed. If your regular cleaner is sick or on vacation, any team member assigned to a home will automatically receive the detailed work order.
Payment options?
Most customers leave a check or cash each time we are there. Some pay for the month in advance. We also accept credit cards and PayPal.
Are we locked into a contract?
No, we do not require contracts. We’re confident that our customers are very happy with our cleaning, and we know that they feel the value in our rates and level of service.
Who do you hire, and are you insured?
Our team members must match our core values – Be Responsible, Be Consistent, Be Personable. Team members have passed a background check performed by Amazon Home Services. A Clean Slate is fully insured for your protection and ours: general liability insurance, workers compensation, and employee bond. Proof of insurance is always available upon request.
What types of products do you use?
Through our years of experience, we've identified that products that are safe for your family and pets, and still do a great job cleaning. Most of our dusting uses Pinesol which is safe for pets and also disinfects while it cleans. Our eco-products are from Boulder Clean - which has been named the 2016 and 2017 EPA Safer Choice Partner of the Year for products that are safer for families, workplaces, and the environment.
